Build Your Own Internship: Location of Your Choice
Not seeing an internship for you below? If you have a very specific internship placement in mind or are looking through our program list and not seeing your location of choice, you still have options! You can “Build Your Own Internship,” where you research and secure your own internship while working with the GEO office to receive relevant academic credit. Students are responsible for finding this internship, housing, and travel arrangements independently, which is what differs from the existing internship placement programs that GEO offers. All students will be charged in-state tuition for this program and receive a guaranteed $250-$1000 scholarship.

Atenas, Costa Rica with World Endeavors
Business and Marketing with Tourism Company:
Work with the team to develop marketing campaigns and collateral to increase tourism to Costa Rica. Tasks can include editing and translating, updating and creating content for the website, conducting competitor research and developing social media campaigns to increase company visibility internationally.
Organic Coffee Farm or Sustainable Fruit and Vegetable Farm:
Join the small friendly team at a coffee farm in the rural community of San Isidro de Atenas. The farm is a family-run business dedicated to producing organic coffee in a sustainable way. Interns are involved in every aspect of the process, from picking, drying, toasting, and packing the coffee beans, to sales and marketing, as well as guiding tours of the farm. Another possible placement is with a family-run sustainable agriculture project certified by the Ministry of Agriculture, helping to grow vegetables and fruit and also selling the produce at the weekly farmer's market.

Business and Event Management Internship:
Support one of Ireland's most exciting jewelry designers, celebrated internationally for her thought provoking designs and experiences and nominated for global awards in innovation and sustainable practices. Interns assist with building a system to manage the growth of retail and online shopping, including supply chain communication and management of customer relations for all existing and new retail customers, developing a large-scale company event within the airport terminals, and managing social media channels.

Wine Business Internship:
Family-run wine cellar located in the heart of the Florentine old town. Interns learn about the business and sales side of wine, conduct market research and trend analysis, assist with the design of wine marketing strategies and campaigns, assist with strategies to expand clientele and increase sales, manage social media marketing campaigns, and gain a broader overview of the Italian wine industry.
