Build Your Own Internship: Location of Your Choice
Not seeing an internship for you below? If you have a very specific internship placement in mind or are looking through our program list and not seeing your location of choice, you still have options! You can “Build Your Own Internship,” where you research and secure your own internship while working with the GEO office to receive relevant academic credit. Students are responsible for finding this internship, housing, and travel arrangements independently, which is what differs from the existing internship placement programs that GEO offers. All students will be charged in-state tuition for this program and receive a guaranteed $250-$1000 scholarship.

Accra, Ghana with World Endeavors
Journalism and Media Internship:
Intern with a newspaper, television network or radio station, while being immersed in Ghanaian culture and media. Interns work alongside local journalists, gaining a genuine sense of the environment and providing the opportunity to cover a variety of eye-opening issues unique to Ghanaian communities. Interns gain experience with editing, copywriting, reporting, interviewing, and researching. Positions range from being a researcher at a local paper to being a TV halftime analyst.
Bangkok, Thailand with World Endeavors
Communication Internship:
Communications interns design websites, plan marketing campaigns, organize publicity events, write press releases, or develop and implement communications strategies.
Media Studies Internship:
Media Studies interns work at radio and television stations, film production companies, newspapers, magazines, advertising or public relations agencies, and other print or digital media companies gaining professional experience in a wide range of job duties and picking up a host of valuable practical skills.

Internship with ASEA:
ASEA is a non-profit organization consisting of over 10,000 Argentine member businesses that assist entrepreneurs in building. They were instrumental in the passage of the "Ley de los Emprendedores" legislation that reduced the time required to start a company from 18 months to 24 hours. They also regularly host large networking events to help connect and empower entrepreneurs.
Cape Town, South Africa with CIEE
Internship with Labor or Trade Organization:
Intern at a labor or trade organization writing press releases and other media communications to promote clients.
Internship at an Non-Profit Organization:
Prepare and edit internal/external publications and maintain web content at a non-government organization.
Dublin, Ireland with World Endeavors
Business and Event Management Internship:
Support one of Ireland's most exciting jewelry designers, celebrated internationally for her thought provoking designs and experiences and nominated for global awards in innovation and sustainable practices. Interns assist with building a system to manage the growth of retail and online shopping, including supply chain communication and management of customer relations for all existing and new retail customers, developing a large-scale company event within the airport terminals, and managing social media channels.
Communications Internship for Food and Wine Importer:
Ireland’s leading food and wine importer, servicing hotels, caves, restaurants, delis and gourmet shops, as well as the general public. Interns assist with updating the company website, creating compelling brochures and marketing materials, answering phones, data entry and processing orders.

Wine Business Internship:
Family-run wine cellar located in the heart of the Florentine old town. Interns learn about the business and sales side of wine, conduct market research and trend analysis, assist with the design of wine marketing strategies and campaigns, assist with strategies to expand clientele and increase sales, manage social media marketing campaigns, and gain a broader overview of the Italian wine industry.

Internship with Media Agency:
A communications internship with a media agency, mainly focusing on internal communications & user generated films. The intern can expect to get involved with LinkedIn research and social media posts, content creation and postproduction. They may attend any shoots they have during the time of internship.
Media Internship:
A communications internship with a brand, PR, social media, digital, content and reputation agency. The intern can expect to get involved with generating reports, creating social media plans and developing content for clients. Depending on the time of year, interns can also get involved with photoshoots and attend client meetings.

Sports Marketing Internship:
Company specializing in digital media sports marketing, with emphasis on personal branding and digital marketing for elite athletes, events, and sports clubs. They help athletes create a personal professional brand, manage social media, and obtain patrons. They connect brands with athletes and events. They position events through digital marketing to generate interest, increase publication engagement, and improve relations with media and sponsors. Interns draft content, create social media content, manage emails, assist with press releases and communications, translate social media and web content, and provide support for marketing events.

Fashion Brand Internship:
Intern for a Sustainable, Ethical and Vegan Fashion Brand. Duties may include supporting marketing and PR strategies, social media planning and execution, curation of blog content, and SEO research.
Paris, France with World Endeavors
Communications Internship:
Editorial group in France with more than 80 brands. Interns manage the brand promotion and assist with communication activities, monitor image campaigns and digital campaigns, write social media posts for events and partnerships, organize and participate in partner events, and participate in brand diversification and benchmarking.
Brand Communication Internship:
Interns focus on communication and development of new brands and the business to consumer market. Interns create content for social media, plan photo shoots, assist with opening a pop-up store and manage communication with journalists.

Creative Agency Internship:
Full service media agency offering creative advertising across all mediums and channels as well as strategy and media planning and buying. Interns gain experience with client management, design projects, TV projects, and digital and social media. Media Publication Internship:
