Build Your Own Internship: Location of Your Choice
Not seeing an internship for you below? If you have a very specific internship placement in mind or are looking through our program list and not seeing your location of choice, you still have options! You can “Build Your Own Internship,” where you research and secure your own internship while working with the GEO office to receive relevant academic credit. Students are responsible for finding this internship, housing, and travel arrangements independently, which is what differs from the existing internship placement programs that GEO offers. All students will be charged in-state tuition for this program and receive a guaranteed $250-$1000 scholarship.

Berlin, Germany with CIEE
Film Internship:
Intern at a film agency focusing on daily production and administrative work.
Media Internship:
Work at a media company to support film production for content marketing and public relations.
Buenos Aires, Argentina with Road2Argentina
Film Production Internship:
Raro Films is a film production company composed of film, fashion and art directors, as well as audiovisual artists, dedicated to produce commercials, video clips, web contents, short and feature films for a variety of customers.
Start-Up Internship:
This is a placement that's really a combination of two startups in the same office. Top Hat is an audio-visual content producer. They have a recording studio and produce the music and videos for various local artists and brands. Howler - the second start-up - is a marketing and web design firm who not only markets for said artists, but also for a wide range of other clients, doing everything from building and designing websites and apps to creating social media content to branding.
Cape Town, South Africa with CIEE
Media Internship:
Work at a media company completing research and pre-production tasks for projects/shoots.
TV Station Internship:
Intern at a TV station contacting and sourcing all necessary venue information for projects, including availability, rental fees, audio-visual, permitting, etc.
London, UK with Anglo Educational Services
Video Production Internship:
A video production internship with a small media agency mainly focusing on internal communications & user generated films. Interns can expect to get involved with video shoots, post production tasks and subtitling.
Video Production Internship:
A video production internship with an all in one film production company that specialises in films and videos for cosmetic brands. Interns can expect to get involved with live interviews, attending and assisting shoots and post production tasks.
Madrid, Spain with World Endeavors
Communications Internship at After School Facility:
After school care facility for at-risk youth. Interns assist with organizing advocacy events, editing and producing multimedia content, investigate and write about issues related to human rights, manage website content, assist with creating photos and videos of the center and activities, help manage social media campaigns, help to create courses for the youth on IT or other areas of experience and interest, and help to plan and oversee children’s activities during the afternoons.
Prague, Czech Republic with World Endeavors
Film and Video Production Internship:
Interns work at radio and television stations, film production companies, newspapers, magazines, advertising or public relations agencies, and other print or digital media companies gaining professional experience in a wide range of job duties and picking up a host of valuable practical skills.
Film Internship:
Placements are available with film production companies, dependent on season and project schedule.
Seoul, South Korea with CRCC Asia
Marketplace Internship:
Work with an organization that has built a marketplace that connects brands with creatives. This marketplace allows for brands to be able to rent locations, hire cast, crew, talent, equipment, and even secure projects directly through the marketplace.
Sydney, Australia with World Endeavors
Media/Film Internship:
Media/film internship with a radio station. Responsibilities include digital content production and publishing, filming concerts both internal and external, corporate film content for the station, and online social media short clips.
