Build Your Own Internship: Location of Your Choice 

Not seeing an internship for you below? If you have a very specific internship placement in mind or are looking through our program list and not seeing your location of choice, you still have options! You can “Build Your Own Internship,” where you research and secure your own internship while working with the GEO office to receive relevant academic credit. Students are responsible for finding this internship, housing, and travel arrangements independently, which is what differs from the existing internship placement programs that GEO offers. All students will be charged in-state tuition for this program and receive a guaranteed $250-$1000 scholarship.

Examples of Internship Placements 

Buenos Aires, Argentina with Road2Argentina

Internship with Legal Advisor Firm:
Kaplan Abogados is a firm of legal advisors to technology companies with operations in Latin America, as well as regional companies focusing on global markets. The founder has degrees in business law, technology transactions and international taxation and is regularly invited to speak on entrepreneurship and technology law topics by academic, governmental and business organizations.

Business Consulting and Law Firm:
Allonca is an internationally focused business consulting and law firm working in both the public and private sector. They offer consulting for issues related to international expansion and practices in a variety of areas, including corporate law, international trade, environmental law, tax planning, labour law and entrepreneurship. This firm is characterized by extensive experience of overseeing various acquisitions and business transactions and works with clients all over the world.
 

Cape Town, South Africa with CIEE

Assisting Refugees at a Law Clinic Internship:
Intern at a law clinic assisting refugee clients in completing paperwork and accompanying clients to course proceedings.

Internship at Non-Profit Organization:
Interns will work at a non-profit organization supporting legal research and drafting legal documentation.
 

 

Dublin, Ireland with World Endeavors

Law Firm Internship:

Dublin-based law firm specializing in administrative and public law, defense litigation, commercial contracts and litigation, child and family law, debt collection/insolvency/liquidations, private client, intellectual property, mental health law, and personal injuries.

Law Firm Internship:

Firm focused on immigration, criminal, family and employment law. Interns prepare briefs for counsel, accompany solicitors to court, lodge documents, take notes at meetings, and assist with general office and administration work including answering phones, greeting clients, and filing.

 

London, UK with Anglo Education Services

Law Internship with a Criminal Law Firm:
Interns will be assisting clients with both legal aid and private matters. The interns can expect to get involved with ongoing court cases, reviewing and reporting on evidence and creating court bundles. However, tasks do differ depending on the ongoing cases at the time of the internship.

Law Internship with a Law Centre in London:
focusing on helping those in the local community. The intern can expect to get involved with writing advice letters, attending court and attending client meetings and advising sessions.
 

Paris, France with World Endeavors

Law Firm and Consulting Internship:

A large international firm providing legal advice and consulting services to businesses in asset management and investment funds, healthcare and life sciences, technology, media and telecommunications, and financial institutions.

Environmental and Public Law Firm Internship:

Environmental and public law firm with expertise in biodiversity and resources, climate, energy law, environmental criminal law, environmental health, industrial environment, public business law, private business law, and urban planning and development.

*Minimum B2 French level required.

 

Prague, Czech Republic with World Endeavors

Law Firm and Corporation Internship:
Law interns work in law firms and corporations, researching and preparing briefs, summarizing court documents, organizing files, and reviewing client documents. Placements are available within legal departments of medium sized companies.
 

Quito, Ecuador with USFQ

Intern with a Law Enforcement Organization:
This internship includes tasks that are the following: going to your prosecutor's office, judicial units and hearings; reviewing legal proceedings in general; and collaborating in the area of litigation, including criminal, civil and administrative matters. Spanish language skills required.

 

Seoul, South Korea with CRCC Asia

Law Firm Internship:
Intern with a law firm that specializes in business law, with particular focus in patent, trademark, design, and technology law.
 

Tokyo, Japan with CRCC Asia

Law Firm Internship:
Intern with a 20-lawyer, mid-sized, full-service firm with strengths in the areas of international transactions, FDI, M&A, conflict resolution, IP, employment, corporate secretarial work, and sectors from food and beverages to cutting edge technology law.
