Build Your Own Internship: Location of Your Choice
Not seeing an internship for you below? If you have a very specific internship placement in mind or are looking through our program list and not seeing your location of choice, you still have options! You can “Build Your Own Internship,” where you research and secure your own internship while working with the GEO office to receive relevant academic credit. Students are responsible for finding this internship, housing, and travel arrangements independently, which is what differs from the existing internship placement programs that GEO offers. All students will be charged in-state tuition for this program and receive a guaranteed $250-$1000 scholarship.

Bangkok, Thailand with World Endeavors
Studio and Event Photography Internships:
Placements are available with local photographers, as well as photography studios. Placements are also available with event photographers.
Berlin, Germany with CIEE
Small Creative Agency Internship:
Intern with a small creative agency, producing photos, or contributing to photo editing for client projects.
Photography Studio Internship:
Intern with a small photography studio with set design and creation, client communications, and support to photographers and creatives working in the space.
Buenos Aires with Road2Argentina
Start-up Internship:
This is a placement that's really a combination of two startups in the same office. Top Hat is an audio-visual content producer. They have a recording studio and produce the music and videos for various local artists and brands. Howler - the second start-up - is a marketing and web design firm who not only markets for said artists, but also for a wide range of other clients, doing everything from building and designing websites and apps to creating social media content to branding.
Film Production Company Internship:
Raro Films is a film production company composed of film, fashion and art directors, as well as audiovisual artists, dedicated to produce commercials, video clips, web contents, short and feature films for a variety of customers.
Madrid, Spain with World Endeavors
Fashion Business Internship:
Interns focus on communication and development of new brands and the business to consumer market. Interns create content for social media, plan photo shoots, assist with opening a pop-up store and manage communication with journalists.
Communications at After School Facility:
After school care facility for at-risk youth. Interns assist with organizing advocacy events, editing and producing multimedia content, investigate and write about issues related to human rights, manage website content, assist with creating photos and videos of the center and activities, help manage social media campaigns, help to create courses for the youth on IT or other areas of experience and interest, and help to plan and oversee children’s activities during the afternoons.

Photography Placement:
Placements are available in photography studios, graphic design studios, multimedia organizations, and with event photographers. Placements are available with local photographers, as well as photography studios.
Photojournalism Internship for Online News Website:
Take photos, edit images, and assist with writing original and engaging articles for an online news website with a variety of features, including lifestyle, politics, culture, food, and environment.
