Build Your Own Internship - Location of Your Choice
Not seeing an internship for you below? If you have a very specific internship placement in mind or are looking through our program list and not seeing your location of choice, you still have options! You can “ Build Your Own Internship ,” where you research and secure your own internship while working with the GEO office to receive relevant academic credit. Students are responsible for finding this internship, housing, and travel arrangements independently, which is what differs from the existing internship placement programs that GEO offers. All students will be charged in-state tuition for this program and receive a guaranteed $250-$1000 scholarship.

Performing Arts Internship with Dance Studio — Bangkok, Thailand
This dance studio offers hands-on experience in public relations and event coordination, supporting press outreach and performance production for its dance company.
Tasks and responsibilities may include:

Performing Arts Internship
The Teatro Ciego is the only theater in the world where all the shows are performed in total darkness. They currently have 7 performances, including a gourmet show, a children's show, and a music cycle. 40 percent of their 70 employees are blind or have low vision.

Performing Arts Internship — Dublin, Ireland
This performing arts organization empowers young performers as they begin their journeys on the stage, offering hands-on directorial experience within a community of emerging teen and youth actors.
Tasks and responsibilities may include:
- Working on scripts for summer productions featuring local teens and youths
- Locating and sourcing costumes and props for various productions
- Supporting the administrative work of the organization
- Marketing and Business Internship with Music School — Dublin, Ireland
Support the marketing, communications, and administrative functions of a music school and concert venue, gaining experience across digital marketing, event promotion, and business operations. This placement suits students interested in the music/entertainment industry, advertising, marketing, and PR, or business.
Tasks and responsibilities may include:
- Supporting the marketing department with digital, print, and email campaigns
- Helping promote upcoming shows through marketing materials and social media
- Assisting with information gathering and research to support business growth
- Assisting with outreach to potential customers to drive business development
- Supporting day-to-day activities within the music school, including workshop and recital prep
London, UK with Anglo Education Services
Theatre Internship in Covent Garden:
A theatre-based internship at a world-famous location in Covent Garden. The intern can expect to get involved with set design and construction, production meetings and supporting the team, as well as assisting with budgeting and the volunteer rota.
Theatre Internship in Multi-Arts Centre:
A theatre-based internship at a multi-arts center in London. This internship offers a mix of theatre, music, comedy, literature, film, and visual arts, as well as family and free events. The intern can expect to get involved with setup and takedown of sets, distributing flyers and posting on social media, as well as writing press releases and researching potential funding sources.
Paris, France with World Endeavors
Public Relations in Performing Arts Internship — Paris, France
This theater promotes live entertainment for young spectators and their families through a multidisciplinary program combining dance, theater, puppetry, music, visual arts, and digital arts.
Tasks and responsibilities may include:
- Managing bookings and scheduling meetings
- Presenting shows to prospective audiences and partners
- Writing pedagogic files to accompany performances
- Contacting schools to coordinate outreach and attendance
