Chad Harmon, Health & Safety Program Officer Request an appointment.
Global Education Office (GEO)
Chad is the International Health and Safety Program Officer for the Global Education Office. In this capacity, he serves as the principal risk mitigation and crisis management specialist for student university-affiliated/sponsored international travel. He received his BA in Political Science from Georgia Southern University where he also studied abroad in Costa Rica on a Spanish language immersion program. He then went on to earn his Master of International Affairs degree from Texas A&M University's Bush School of Government and Public Service where he focused on national security and diplomacy.
Chad joined the Global Education Office from Penn State University where he was an International Risk Analyst. In this role, he monitored international security trends, responded to crises involving university travelers, maintained a travel registry, and conducted pre-departure security briefings. Prior to working at Penn State, Chad spent time abroad working for the US Department of State. His favorite part about working in a university setting is helping students make potentially risky international travel safe and accessible.
