In March 2014, George Mason University opened the doors to its new international campus, in Songdo, South Korea. “Mason Korea” students come from all over the world, and Mason’s Virginia students are encouraged to consider studying at the new campus and enjoy its unique global learning environment. The academic staff at Mason Korea includes tenured, tenure-track, and term faculty members from current Mason U.S. programs.

Bilateral Exchange Programs
Bilateral exchange programs offer the abroad experience to Mason students for the same cost as their Mason tuition while room and board is paid to the host institution. In a bilateral exchange program the student will travel independently and live with other international students. At least of 45 credits at the time of departure with a minimum 2.5 GPA or at least 30 credits at the time of departure with at least 3.0 GPA are required to participate in a Mason Bilateral Exchange Program. While all Mason students are eligible for this program, Bilateral Exchange Programs are the most economical option for in-state tuition payers to go abroad. The most economical option for out-of-state tuition payers are Direct Enrollment Programs.

Courses are available in many different disciplines and students are enrolled as regular students at the partner university. Program costs are paid directly to Mason and include tuition. While all Mason students are eligible for this program, direct enrollment programs are the most economical option for out-of-state tuition payers. Some programs may also include additional items such as housing and meals plans. More detailed information about what is and is not included can be found on each brochure page.
