Program Description:

Global Praxis for Faculty

The Global Education Office (GEO) would like to support Mason faculty and students alike to conduct research abroad to further Mason's mission of internationalizing the university. The Global Praxis Program is an opportunity for faculty to engage Mason students a hands-on, international research project that will assist in furthering your career.

Grant Details

The Global Praxis is a grant offered to students hired by approved Mason faculty as research assistants. Mason faculty and chosen students will be conducting international research for a period of one week to six months overseas at any time during the year.
 
Students could receive 50% of the costs, up to $1,800, associated with travel incidentals including, but not limited to:
  • Airfare
  • Hotels
  • Meals
  • In-country transportation
  • Visa and Passport Fees

Position Requirements

All Faculty will need to submit the following:
 

  1. Your Academic resume or CV
  2. Description of international research to be conducted at the time of travel
    1. A one-page summary that includes any planned research activities
  3. Country destination*
  4. Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval, as appropriate/if required
  5. Dates research is to be conducted
  6. Number of requested research assistants (4 maximum)
  7. Research Assistant position description
    1. Please include any courses or credit pre-requisites the students must have in the position description
