Program Description:

International Security Studies of Switzerland

Online, Summer 2021

NOTE: This program is entirely online and there is no international travel component. 

International Security Studies provides students with an introduction to international security affairs from a global perspective.  The course examines the achievements and failures of some of the world's most important economic, political, humanitarian and security organizations from an interdisciplinary perspective. The courses offer students an intellectually stimulating, innovative and diverse program of study in an online environment.

Two lectures by Dr. Thrall, Frameworks for Thinking about International Organizations and The Evolution of International Organizations after the Coronavirus Pandemic will book-end University of Fribourg modules on International Law & Human Rights, International Economic Relations, European Institutions, Policy and Advocacy.  Each module includes interactive sessions with University of Fribourg faculty and international organization leadership members.

Eligibility

This program is open to all undergraduate and graduate students including students who do not attend George Mason University.

3 undergrad credits: GOVT, GLOA, CONF, HIST, and CRIM.

Program Cost

Summer 2021: $1827

Included: Tuition for 3 credits, application deposit, and online instructional fees.

Program Payments

Students on MasonGEO programs must pay the advertised program cost in order to participate. This cost will be made in two payments (Deposit + Final Payment).

Application Deposit: A non-refundable program deposit $200 must be received by the application deadline. This fee is paid online through the MasonAbroad application system and is included in the program fee.

Final Payment: The final balance payment is due by June 15. This is the difference of your Program Cost minus the $200 you've already paid (Deposit). Your final balance will be made through your George Mason student account.

Withdrawal and Refund Policy: All participants are bound by the Mason GEO Withdrawal and Refund Policy.
